How to Reach?

  • By Bus: One of the easiest ways to reach Rijksmuseum is to take the 347 or 357 bus from Koenenkade. The bus will drop you to Overtoom or Leidseplein in about 30 minutes and after a few minutes walk you will reach Rijksmuseum. You can also board the 397 bus that will drop you directly at the Rijksmuseum. Bus 397 departs every 7-8 minutes from the B17 terminal.
  • By Metro: From Noord, you'll have to take the Line 52 train that runs along the Station Zuid route. The Line 52 train runs from 7.20 am to 11.57 pm along the Station Zuid route. You'll have to exit at Vijzelgracht station which is around 2 km from Rijksmuseum. From Vijzelgracht, you'll have to walk for two to three minutes to reach Rijksmuseum.
  • By Train: It will take around 8 minutes to reach the Rijksmuseum by train. You can take a Sprinter or an Inter-City train from Amsterdam Centraal. Get off the train at Museumplein station and walk for a few minutes to reach Rijksmuseum.
  • By Light Rail: You can also take the light 1 rail, which will take approximately 27 minutes to reach Rijksmuseum. The nearest stops to Rijksmuseum are Museumplein, Vijzelgracht, and Leidseplein. You can get off at any of these stops and walk for a few seconds to reach Rijksmuseum.
  • By Car :If you want to visit the Rijksmuseum by car, you'll have to travel southwest to Prins Hendrikkade. For about 4 minutes, continue driving down Prins Hendrikkade and then take the Haarlemmer Houttuinen route to S100 in Amsterdam Zuid. You'll have to continue driving on S100 for approximately 4.7 km, and the Rijksmuseum will be shortly on your right.
